Zsanett Miko
I graduated from the Eötvös Loránd University, at the specialization of Ecology, Evolutionary and Conservation Biology in 2012. Since then I am working in the Lendület Evolutionary Ecology Research group as a PhD student. As a PhD student, I investigated the effects of a common glyphosate-based herbicide on the larval development of amphibians. I conducted ecotoxicological experiments in the lab and in outdoor mesocosms to investigate the changes in survival, body mass, growth rate, and behaviour of Rana dalmatina and Bufo bufo tadpoles in response to the herbicide. I defended my PhD thesis in 2019. Recently I am investigating the lethal and sublethal ecotoxicological effects of two pyrethriod insecticides (deltamethrin and etofenprox) widely used in agriculture and in mosquito control on amphibians. I am also participating in experiments focusing on climate change and environmental pollutants as endocrine disruptors on sexual differentiation in amphibians. Besides this I am taking part in COST Action PERIAMAR (Pesticide Risk Assessment for Amphibians and Reptiles).
