Balint Uveges
I graduated in 2008 as an ecologist at the Department of Evolutionary Zoology and Human Biology of the University of Debrecen, Hungary. Until 2011 I was a PhD student at the same department, and since 2012 I am working as an assistant research fellow at the Lendület Evolutionary Ecology Research Group. My main research interests lie in phenotypic plasticity of chemical defences and biology of venomous snakes. We study how environmental factors such as predator cues or competition affect the toxin composition of common toads (Bufo bufo) in the lab and under semi-natural conditions. As a side project I participate in a conservation biology project focusing on the Greek meadow viper (Vipera ursinii graeca) in Albania and Greece.
